Create a clean, modern, and responsive website for Lucky Chopsticks, a family-owned restaurant, that makes it easy for customers to explore the menu, find location details, and place orders while maintaining the identity of the restaurant

Problem

The restaurant had no clear online presence, inconsistent branding, and limited accessibility options, making it difficult for the bulk of customers, older adults, to explore menus or contact the business.

Designing for Older Adults

Pain Points

  • Previously there was little to no up to date online presence for Lucky Chopsticks. For many years there was constant complaints of outdated menu items and pricing.

  • Many customers browse on phones and without a responsive layout, the site was difficult to navigate and read on smaller screens.

  • The main clientele for Lucky Chopsticks is and has always been Older Adults. No alternative text for images, low color contrast, and unclear hierarchy made it less accessible to users with visual impairments.

  • No easy way to highlight specials, or showcase the story of the family that build the restaurant.

Solutions for the Redesign

  • A up to date, cleaner layout that clearly shows the menu that is linked directly to the main google page of the restaurant. This allows for easy access to a menu online.

  • A website that is responds to screen size allowing for a mobile friendly experience.

  • High contrast with and a large font size allow for easier viewing for people with visual impairments. Additionally, a zoom feature and font size editor for larger devices without zoom capabilities.

  • A simple and clean UI that is easily editable and maintainable.
